Becoming a Team GCG Ambassador

At GCG Turbos, we don’t just sponsor cars, we support our Team GCG Turbos Ambassadors. To be a Team GCG Turbos Ambassador, you must be able to show that you can consistently promote GCG Turbos in a positive light, to a large and relevant market. As such, your vehicle must fall into one of the two categories listed below and satisfy the relevant category’s requirements.

Competition Vehicle:

The sponsored vehicle should have a confirmed racing schedule for the current or upcoming season with a list of events in which it will be competing. The owner/driver should have solid racing credentials with a documented history of top five finishes.

Show Vehicle:

The sponsored vehicle should have a calendar of confirmed show appearance dates accompanied by a scheduled editorial feature in at least one national automotive publication. (Please note – a news story covering the show at which the car is on display is not equivalent to a full editorial feature on the car) The owner/builder should have a solid history of show wins for the either the current or past show car.

A Team GCG Turbos Ambassador should have had a previous association with GCG Turbos, although exceptions can be made under special circumstances.

The DO's and DONT's of being a GCG Ambassador

When submitting a proposal;

  • DO address it to the right person – marketing, sponsorship or pr manager otherwise your application might end up in the short-term disposable filing system (rubbish bin)
  • DO submit a professional-looking proposal, outlining all the benefits to the sponsor
  • DO specify where and how you want to display the sponsor’s logos and signage
  • DO mention any past projects you’ve completed or raced, it gives the sponsor an idea as to your commitment and success ratio
  • DO provide references from other sponsors
  • DO provide a detailed plan of the vehicle build-up and race/show attendance but… DON’T make it too long. Nobody is going to read a proposal that’s more than 10 pages long
  • DON’T approach two competing companies for a sponsorship on the same car
  • DON’T promise things you can’t deliver. If you promise to attend all the race meetings in a given season and your car is not ready at the beginning of the season, you’ve effectively defaulted on the deal.
